My name is Jo I am in my 20s and officially a makeup beauty Addict. I have always loved playing with makeup. However It was at the beginning of this year that I finally discovered my passion. I first got into makeup in a big way when I searched for something on Youtube. I typed in the search and found all these girls talking about and experimenting with makeup. From that day on I was hooked. I have made a couple of really good friends on youtube who encouraged me to start blogging. So as I am unable to make videos myself here I am. It's early days but I have some interesting things to come. If you have anything to say about any of my posts please feel free to leave a comment. Thanks Jo x

Sorry again and Updated Mac Palettes

I guess the first thing I should say is Sorry for the lack of Posts. I have been very lazy lol. Not a very good excuse but oh well.

I'm very pleased with my current makeup setup and I have been wanting to show you for a while, however I am currently making a couple of finishing touches. Instead of making you wait even longer for a post I decided to get started with one of the easiest parts of my collection..My Mac Eyeshadows.

Most of you are Probably aware I am a Huge Fan of Mac Shadows and I have collected quite a few over the last couple of years. (I have collected a lot of Mac in general but thats another story for another post hehe.)

Mostly I buy the individual shadows from Mac and put them in a palette. I do have a few premade palettes + quads which i like but most of them tend to get forgotten about as I always reach for my 15 pan palettes. I also decided to put the Coastal Scents Hotpots that Becky sent me in with my Mac shadows as they were kind of getting forgotten about when they were in a palette of their own.

I have them organised into colour families, but as I started to outgrow some of the palettes I decided to convert them into 26 pan palettes.

I did this by taking the separator off and sticking the metal plate down with Double Sided Sticky tape. There are Numerous Videos showing how this is done..just do a search on youtube :).

Now I will get on with showing you the Pictures of the Palettes. I would tell you the shadow names but that would make this post way too long. If you want names I will do a seperate post. Or you could put a comment if theres a specific shadow you want to know the name of.

I do also have a Quad of 4 smokey colours that I made. I forgot to photograph this but it has Carbon, Electra Silver Thorn and Knight Devine.

Hope you like the Pictures.

Recent Haul 2 Urban Decay

I have really been liking Urban Decay lately. I have collected all of the Books of shadows except the 1st one, so as soon as I saw Volume 3 on the Debenhams website I ordered it straight away.
.

A few weeks after I got The Book of Shadows 3 I was comtemplating whether I 'needed' to get the Naked Palette and the Black Palette. I had kind of decided that it wasn't really necessary so if it had sold out before I got to get it I wouldn't be too disappointed, (although lets face it, I would have been lol.)

I was browsing my local Debenhams when I saw a small shelf of URBAN DECAY Obviously logic went out the window and I pounced on both the palettes I wanted without a second thought.

I have used the Naked Palette a couple of times since I got it and I really like it and I really like it, although I do still think I COULD have got by without it...Oh well lol.

As for the Black Palette I haven't really used that yet. I am planning on having a play with it tomorrow, but from what I have swatched I think it's really nice and I cannot wait to use it with my Pixie Epoxy.

Well that's all I can think of to say in this post. Hope you enjoyed.

Recent Haul 1 (There have been a few) Benefit

I know some of you may have seen my picture slideshow on youtube but for those that haven't here are pictures of the things I have bought recently. I would just like to add before I show the pictures everything I show was paid for with my own money.

Okay Lets get started

STAY DON'T STRAY PRIMER
 GEORGIA BLUSH
THRRROB BLUSH

 BAD GAL BROWN MASCARA

HIGHBEAM AND MOONBEAM HIGHLIGHTERS
 I am a fan of Benefit Products. My favourite item from the above pics has to be Stay Don't Stray (see the 1st picture). It is a really nice primer for eyeshadows and concealers..It even works quite well alone as a concealer if you are in a rush in the morning.

I am also a big fan of High Beam. I had a sample of this so when I was in the shop I decided to get the full size.

As you can see I also bought Moonbeam...this is purely because I like collecting things lol. I definitely wouldn't say you needed Both, Moonbeam is a bit more iridescenty (if that's a word lol.) They are both nice to have if you are a collector.

Another thing I have collected are the box powders. I have all 6 of them. The 2 shown here were the only 2 i needed to complete the collection..(of course I had to get them lol.) I will do a blogpost showing the full collection at some point. Will I get the next one if they release more..? Of course lol.

I have to say the mascara disappointed me a bit. I bought Badgal Plum back in March which I LOVE so I wanted to get the brown verson to be the same.

The brush with the Plum one is a lot bigger. (It is the same as the black version) and I felt it applied more mascara to the lashes.

LOTD (Full face Purples)

I went out yesterday felt like getting a bit 'glammed up' so I decided to do a full face Makeup look. It was definitely an 'Experimental' look.

I'm sure all of you reading this blogpost have days where you just want to experiment by applying lots of makeup to your face....So 18 products later (yes i know 18...I was lucky that it didn't go horribly wrong) I came up with this look.

It is a lot brighter than the kind of look I would wear if I was going out normally. After seeing all the products used spread over my bed I was worried I would end up looking like a clown...However I was really pleased with the look. Coastal Scents Hotpots

Quite a while ago now my lovely friend Becky was kind enough to send me a set of Coastal Scents Hotpots that she was sent a duplicate set of. (Sorry Becky I know I have been slow doing this post.)

Coastal Scents is an American online makeup company. They sell the famous ’88 Palettes’ along with a lot of other products including the Hot Pots.

Hotpots are individual eyeshadows, however as you can see I have put them into a MAC palette because I find it easier. I have been playing with these on and off since I got them and I really like them.

As I understand it Coastal Scents have their hotpots seperated into catagories:

M = Matte
ME = Metallic
S = Shimmer
B = Blush

While playing around with the Hot Pots I discovered They are quite soft in texture and there are some colour dupes for Mac Shadows.

I know some of these aren't quite 'Dupes' but they are kind of similar so you may feel that you only need one or the other.

Although the individual Mac Shadows are more expensive they are a lot easier to get hold of in the uk. You can order from the Coastal Scents website but shipping to the uk is quite expensive.

In Number order the 'Dupes' are

HPME 01 = No Dupe found as yet

HPMH 02 = Mac Smoke and Diamonds (This isn't a Dupe. It is a much lighter version of a similar kind of colour, some may prefer one to the other...Smoke and Diamonds is discontinued)

HPME 03 = Mac Amber Lights (Again this isn't a complete dupe HPME 03 is more red toned)

HPME 04 = Mac Hypnotising (as far as I can tell this IS dupe. Hypnotising is no longer available at Mac so if you missed out on this colour you may want to check out Coastal Scents.)

HPME 05 = No Dupe found as yet

HPME 06 = Mac Tempting (pretty much identicle in my opinion)

HPME 07 = No Dupe found as yet

HPME 08 = No Dupe found as yet

HPME 09 = No Dupe found as yet

HPME 10 = No Dupe found as yet

HPME 11 = No Dupe found as yet

HPME 12 = Mac Sushi Flower (Sushi flower looks to be more red toned...HPME 12 has a pink undertone which makes it appear lighter)

If you want me to do a seperate post showing pictures of the Mac dupes I mentioned let me know. I would have added them to this post but I need to retake them and I thought Becky had waited long enough for this post lol.

All in all I absolutely Love these eye shadows. Thank you so much Becky for sending them to me.
